Portable Keyer – Brass Base

A compact mechanism mounted on a relatively narrow brass base. The hood, which is closed on all sides, engages on a Plexiglas base plate. The paddles close at the front with the brass base. As a result, the whole key is quite robust and suitable for use on vacation, etc. very well. At least I did not break it during holiday operations.

This is the only Morset key in my collection that I bought directly from Gerhard Schurr while he was still alive.
For me then a proud price. Maybe one reason why I did not decide for a Profi 2. The mechanics can definitely keep up with the Profi models. The sound and the feeling is extremely crisp, you can feel no swinging or similar. This Iambic paddle is clearly underestimated, I think. Although it is missing about 300g to the Profi 2, it stands bombproof on the table.

The Plexiglas base plate and the quasi-connected hood would allow the installation of LEDs and let this key shine beautifully in the dark – just an idea for mods πŸ˜‰
