Iambic key on wooden base

Iambic keyer on a small brass plate with mahogany or oak base. Mechanics similar to ‘Profi (1)’. The wooden base has a brass weight embedded. It would probably have been less effort to use a brass base. But the buyers or the design invented by Gerhard Schurr probably demanded wood down below.

The wooden base has a 3-fold profiling on my key at the top, groove – fillet – groove. If OM Gerhard has milled all three profiles individually – hats off. I also do that from time to time and it’s a time-consuming job!

Wood base dimensions (W x D x H / mm) approx. 110 x 100

Dimensions including paddles, feet and hood (W x D x H / mm) approx. 100 x 145 x 66

Weight approx. 690 g including hood
